Travelhagen Tips to Make Your Trip Cost-Effective , Time-Smart and more cozy :
1. Travel in Groups for Maximum Savings :
Ideal Group Size: 4 travelers
Why? Cost of car, hotel, and driver gets split → lower per person price
4 people can comfortably fit in a 5 seater car (no need for costly 7 seater MUV upgrade in case guide is not included).
For 1 or 2 travelers, a mix of 2nd AC trains and car is much more cost-effective than hiring a private car for the entire route.
2. Skip the Guide for Familiar Places in case of 4 travellers
Savings: Around ₹8,000 per trip (can be used for extra activities or shopping). Also If a guide joins, 4 guests may require a 7 seater MUV for comfort which is more costly as compared to Sedan or Hachback. Hachback is more suitable for solo travellers , specially for day tour as old streets of India have narrow road/lanes which hinders access to Longer cars.
3. Mix Car & Train Travel
Use private car for short distances (Delhi–Agra–Jaipur).
Opt for overnight 2nd AC trains for long journeys (Jaipur → Jodhpur → Jaisalmer).
Saves ₹10,000+ and 1 hotel night.
4. Choose Entry Tickets Separately
Entry fees for foreigners are much higher than for Indian travelers.
Keeping tickets optional gives you liberty what to visit and save on unused monuments.
5. Book Early for Best Rates
Hotels and trains fill fast during peak season.
